Rhinoplasty can be performed for both cosmetic or functional purposes, so it depends on the reason you’re getting the procedure. Unfortunately, if you are getting cosmetic surgery performed (i.e. fixing an asymmetrical nose, increasing or decreasing the size), your insurance company will not cover it, since it is an elective procedure.
The good news is that if you’re getting functional Rhinoplasty for symptoms such as correcting a broken nose or improving nasal breathing, there is a good chance it can be covered by many insurance companies. However, insurance coverage will vary considerably according to each insurance company and policy.
If you have any concerns or questions about your eligibility, it’s always a good idea to speak with your insurance provider before coming in for your consultation. Our office is very well experienced in dealing with insurance companies and we will assist with the insurance issues.
